The Future Self Decisions I’ve Had To Make This Month (And Why They Matter for Manifestation)

Stepping into your Future Self isn’t always about vision boards, Pinterest boards, and affirmations. Sometimes, it’s about making the hard, uncomfortable decisions in the here and now — the ones your current self might begrudge, but your Future Self will thank you for.

And honestly? These decisions often don’t look glamorous. They’re boundaries, sacrifices, and shifts in behaviour that don’t always feel fun in the moment. But they’re the exact choices that close the gap between your current reality and the life you’re manifesting.

This month, I’ve had to make five Future Self decisions that pushed me out of my comfort zone. I wanted to share them with you, partly for accountability, and partly to encourage you to ask yourself: what decisions is my Future Self asking me to make right now?

1. Deleting WhatsApp During Working Hours

WhatsApp used to take up so much of my day — constant chats, voice notes, memes, and group conversations. While I love connecting with my friends, I realised it was breaking my flow and costing me valuable work time.

So I made the decision to delete WhatsApp during my working hours. I let my closest friends know I’d reply at lunch or once my laptop was shut for the day.

And guess what? My productivity skyrocketed. My focus isn’t interrupted every 20 minutes, and when I do reply later, I’m more intentional and present.

This is the boundary my Future Self needed me to set.

2. Saying No to “Freelancer Mode”

I’ve been running my business like I’m still a freelancer, saying yes to everything and bending my boundaries. But the reality is: I’m not a freelancer anymore. I’m running a brand.

That means structure. That means not working evenings or weekends just to please others. And that means saying “no” more often, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Future Me is running a sustainable, successful business — and she doesn’t build that by saying yes to everything.

3. Cancelling My Holidays to Save for a House

This was one of the hardest Future Self decisions I’ve had to make: cancelling my holidays this year so I can save for a 20% house deposit.

At the start of the year, I didn’t realise I’d be offered the chance to buy my home. Suddenly, it became “mission save” mode. Instead of spending £3k on trips abroad, I redirected that money into my savings account.

I’m not going to lie — this has been a challenge because I’ve been lucky enough to live with disposable income for years. But I know my Future Self will thank me when she’s holding the keys to her dream home.

4. Pulling My Big Girl Business Pants On

This one feels really uncomfortable for me. I’ve always been incredibly lenient with payments, offering reminders and flexibility when people fall behind. But at some point, I had to face the truth: this isn’t serving me, or my business.

So I made the decision that if someone is a frequent late payer, they won’t be able to purchase from me anymore. Whether it’s The Collective or one-off payments, I need equal energy exchanges in my business.

It’s a three-strike rule now: if I have to send you three reminders, that’s where our connection ends. It doesn’t feel natural for me to set boundaries like this, but I know my Future Self runs a business rooted in mutual respect, not chasing overdue invoices.

5. Cutting Ties With Every Man Who Didn’t Belong in My Future

Finally, I made the decision to cut cords with every single man who still had some kind of access to me — ex-boyfriends, situationships, flirty friends.

It feels extreme (and yes, my dating life is currently dryer than the desert 😂), but my Future Self doesn’t crave attention or validation. She desires a real partnership. And that means clearing space now for the person who is aligned.

This decision wasn’t about bitterness. It was about boundaries.

Final Thoughts: What Decisions Is Your Future Self Asking You to Make?

These five Future Self decisions haven’t been easy. They’ve been awkward, begrudging, and uncomfortable at times. But every single one is a step closer to the life I’m manifesting.

So now I want to ask you: what is your Future Self asking you to do today, even if it feels hard? Maybe it’s setting a boundary, maybe it’s saving instead of spending, maybe it’s letting go of a relationship that doesn’t serve you.

Whatever it is, consider this your sign — and your accountability partner — to make that decision now.
